You may pre-purchase your 2014-2015 yearbook on line @ ybpay.lifetouch.com, the cost is $35.00 and the yearbook ID code is 9190115. You can also submit candid school photos for consideration in the yearbook. To submit photos to the yearbook staff, go to community.lifetouch.com and register with the access code: KDZRLC. The last day to make payments is February 15, 2015.
Attention students and teachers this week we are celebrating Literacy Week. Not only will you be able to purchase books at the book fair you can participate in a "Door Decorating Contest". All6th period classes are being asked to decorate their classroom door with the theme of literacy. Your door may focus on the importance of reading, you may feature a specific book/author or perhaps it could be on a specific genre of books, Be Creative!! The 6th period class that wins the best door will receive a Pizza Party!!!

FSA Training Tests
FSA (Florida Standards Assessment) is the state’s new assessment tool. Students have access to online practice training tests through the FSA website and are encouraged to take these online tests to familiarize themselves with the system. Here at Westpine all students will experience this new test system prior to the actual test, but students are encouraged to practice at home as much as possible.The practice tests ARE meant to teach your child how to navigate and use the tools during testing. Parent & Student Annual Survey Deadline is January 30. Parents will need their child's student number and date of birth to enter the survey. Click here for link to the survey.

Walkabout Autism & Expo
So far, our School's Team (Westpine Panthers Corp) for Dan Marino's WalkAbout Autism event has raised over $1000. Thank you to all who have donated. Please keep the donations coming in for this worthy cause.Click here to donate. Print your receipt and bring it to school to get your blue paper sneaker, we will ask you to put your name on the sneaker and we will display the sneakers throughout the school. There is also a donation jar in the cafeteria to collect any coins you would like to donate.

Move Over Famous Artists! Westpine's Artists are taking over the spotlight! We have teamed up with Artsonia, the world's largest online kid's art museum to display our students' artwork. Our students join thousands of students from over 130 countries whose artwork is showcased on Artsonia. Artsonia provides online features such as fan clubs and personal guestbooks. Family members can purchase keepsakes, like posters, t-shirts, etc., imprinted with the child's artwork, and Artsonia gives 20% of the purchases back to Westpine.To view our exhibit click here!

of Broward County is the provider for Westpine's afterschool program. It is open to all Westpines' students, Mon - Fri, 3:15 - 6:00 p.m. Registration fee is $27.00 per household. Cost is $100.00 per month per child. Payments made by money order or check at Westpine. The program supports your child's development in many ways:

• Academic support
• Positive social interaction
• Community involvement
• Nutrition education
• Cultural enrichment
